Help Wanted
"SKIPPY"

Dave started playing lead and bass guitar while in high school in 1980. Although first attracted to the southern rock style of Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, The Outlaws and the Allman Brothers, Dave switched his focus to country music after hearing Ricky Skaggs' landmark Highways and Heartaches album in 1982. It is still an all-time favorite of his.
Dave began playing guitar and bass in bands during his college years while living in Daytona Florida. There he picked up a variety of Country guitar styles, incorporating Chicken-Pickin, Western Swing, Rock-a-billy and Bluegrass into his playing.
After graduating college with a degree in Aircraft Engineering, he returned to central Massachusetts and became a member of a number of popular regional country acts including The Lincoln County Band, SugarCreek and Prudence & The Plowboys.
For the last 13 years, he has performed with the great Dave Pike & The Good Ol' Boys Band - a central Massachusetts country music institution and member of the Massachusetts Country Music Hall of Fame. Dave continues to play regularly with the Good Ol' Boys when he's not on the road.
Through the years Dave has also played Bass guitar and worked as a soundman and an engineer. A student of music recording, he operated his own recording studio where he made demo recordings and CD's. He handles some of the sound engineering duties for Help Wanted as well.
When Dave is not playing guitar on the road, he enjoys neglecting home repair projects so he can ride his Harley Davidson Road King and his own custom built motorcycle.
With a variety of guitar styles to draw upon, a love for playing live and over 25 years of band experience,
Dave is proud to be a friend and a member of The Help Wanted Band.
